Simply Gurbani ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS application.

Information We Collect

Information Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Reading Position: We save your reading progress (last viewed verse, page, or bani) so you can continue where you left off. This data is stored using Apple's SwiftData framework and never leaves your device.
• Bookmarks: Any verses you bookmark are stored locally on your device. This includes the verse text, location information, and any folders you create to organize bookmarks.
• Search History: Recent search queries are stored locally to help you quickly access previous searches.
• App Preferences: Your display settings (font size, transliteration preferences, etc.) are stored locally.

Information Transmitted Over the Internet

The App connects to the BaniDB API (api.banidb.com) to retrieve Gurbani content, including:

• Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji verses
• Bani texts (Nitnem, etc.)
• Daily Hukamnama
• Search results

We do not send any personal information to this API. The requests contain only the content identifiers needed to retrieve the requested Gurbani text.

Information We Do NOT Collect

Simply Gurbani does NOT:

• Collect personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Track your location
• Use analytics or tracking services
• Display advertisements
• Require account creation or login
• Share any data with third parties
• Access your contacts, photos, or other device data

Data Security

All locally stored data is protected by iOS security features and your device passcode/biometric authentication. Data is stored using Apple's secure SwiftData framework.

Children's Privacy

Simply Gurbani does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. The App contains only religious educational content appropriate for all ages.

Third-Party Services

BaniDB API

The App uses the BaniDB API to fetch Gurbani content. BaniDB is a free, open-source database of Sikh scriptures. For information about BaniDB's practices, please visit: https://banidb.com

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

• Uninstalling the App, or
